McCall Sees Signs of First Snow!

McCall has experienced their first snow of the year. Many, including us, woke up to a scuff of snow on the ground. Although this did not last through the day it was a nice reminder that winter is just around the corner!

Oktoberfest in McCall, Idaho

September 24, 2011 will mark the third anniversary of the MCPAWS Oktoberfest in McCall, Idaho. This annual event serves as a fundraiser for the MCPAWS Regional Animal Shelter and works to bring a little piece of Bavaria to the McCall area. The event will be held at Alpine Village in McCall, located at 616 N Third Street, and run from noon to 6:00pm. A $5 donation to MCPAWS will provide entry into the beer garden area, while those 21 and under are free.

The 2011 Oktoberfest will include local breweries and restaurants serving up unique microbrews and German inspired food. Local organizations and businesses will also have information, craft, and art booths set up throughout the Alpine Village Plaza. Live music provided by the traditional German oompah band, the Treasury Valley Musik Meisters, and a kid’s area with bounce houses and face-painting make this an event for the whole family.

In addition, a live raffle will be held at 5:00pm on the day of the event. Raffle prizes include a snowmobile, snowmobile trip from Cheap Thrills Rentals, a beach cruiser from Mud Creek Outdoor Gear, Wii Console with Fitness Plus, mini-fridge full of Oktoberfest beer, and a special piece designed by Nancy Hoyt through McCall Jewelry Company. Raffle tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the event or in advance at MCPAWS, the MCPAWS Thrift Store, and McCall Pet Outfitters.

Idaho Junior Steelheads Start McCall Season

The Idaho Junior Steelheads are back in McCall starting off their 2011/2012 season. Their games are on Friday and Saturday night starting at 7 pm at the Manchester Ice Event Center. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children. Watching the Junior Steelheads has definitely become a local’s favorite.

McCall Art on the Lake

A fun event to attend this upcoming weekend in McCall is the annual Art on the Lake. This event is from Saturday September 17th 10am-10pm through Sunday September 18th 11am-5pm. This event features regional and local artists. In addition, there will be live music, food, and a beer garden, PLUS The Fall in McCall Street Dance will be held Saturday night from 6-10pm. Framing started on Hamilton Home in McCall

Hamilton Residence in McCall Underway

The Hamilton Residence, located in Aspen Ridge Phase III, has started construction on August 1, 2011. This home is 2,348 sqft and will be tucked back nicely into the beautiful surrounding area of Pine and Aspen Trees.
